QUB Mountaineering Club are proud to welcome back Andy Kirkpatrick as part of his 'Cold Mountain' tour.
"A unique story teller and comedian, described as being the “The Ranulph Fiennes of British Climbing" - by the Today Program - Andy Kirkpatrick has climbed in some of the most inhospitable places on earth, from Greenland to Alaska, Patagonia to Antarctica. In this new tour we begin where his last finished, arriving in Antarctica with the task of guiding a group of BASE jumpers to the top of one of the'hardest mountains in the world'.
Cold Mountain takes you on an adventure that is at the very boundary of the possible; physically, mentally and emotionally - a climb that laid bare the realities of modern adrenaline sports, as well as friendship.
Andy also reflects back on a lifetime spent climbing on many such cold mountains - the climbers, the climbs and the lessons he learnt there.
Cold Mountain, like all of Andy's shows, is hard to pin down; a mix of comedy, pathos and brutal honesty about a life on the edge in every sense.
